We received some much needed rain last night. Three inches to be exact, along with 1.5" the previous two days brings us back to normal on rainfall for the year.
We are officially in frost season now so please check in with the proshop before you come out to play if you think we have frost. Typically we see heavy frost on nights when the low temperature dips into the twenties. Playing on frost can injure the crown of the grass plant since it is frozen. Causing a bruising effect or purplish appearance to the turf.

Venting greens
Greens venting is done every two weeks and provides improved oxygen exchange to the roots of the greens when hot humid conditions persist. This has been a very successful practice and helps us maintain consistent greens conditions.

The snow is almost gone except for bunkers and some cart paths. We are however very wet, so the course will remain closed today (3-29) but we should be good to go tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding. Also, as a reminder we will be aerifying greens and tees next Monday thru Wednesday, April 1st thru the 3rd.

As you are all well aware, we are getting caught up with our average snowfall for the year. So far we have 14.7" with another 7-13" expected tonight thru tomorrow. Our average annual snowfall for this area is 20". In case you are wondering it takes 10" of snow to equal 1" of rain so we are still a ways off in terms of getting caught up on total moisture.
